The Business First Scholarship
The Business First Scholarship was the brain child of Clive Clifford who wanted to come up with a mechanism to help motivated and forward thinking Columbus (central Ohio) business owners take their business to the next level and
at the same time provide this information to help and inspire other business owners - like a case study.
Clive had the idea of getting a group of Columbus area service providers that were dedicated to helping growing businesses and getting them to provide their services at no cost to one business as a "Scholarship".
He put together a number of people that were interested and then took the idea to Business First of Columbus who embraced the concept. In fact with out the enthusiastic and full support of the Business First team, this program would never have got off the ground.
The original idea was to provide an extensive help program to one business but it quickly became apparent that this would totally overwhelm any individual business or business owner.
The concept was thus changed and each of the service providers now provide their skill and expertise to a growing business that really needs their help.
The Business First Scholarship is now in it's fourth year and has been a resounding success. Many businesses have benefited from the program and have grown their businesses with the help of the members of the Scholarship Program.
Business First Scholarship Program Year One - Two Men and a Truck
The first scholarship recipient for ActionCOACH (then known as Action International) was Two men and a Truck, a primarily residential moving franchise that is one of the more successful Two Men and a Truck franchises in the country. Business First Scholarship Program Year Two - Creative Mobile Interior
The second scholarship recipient for ActionCOACH was Creative Mobile Interior or CMI. CMI are builders of one-of-a-kind custom motor coaches, Sprinter vans, trailers and mini-coaches. They blend old world craftsmanship with the latest high-tech amenities to create rolling mansions, radical tailgate vehicles, cutting edge mobile offices, innovative mobile marketing vehicles and much more. Business First Scholarship Program Year Three - WSA Studio
The third scholarship recipient for ActionCOACH was WSA Studio. WSA Studio is a collaborative architecture and design firm motivated by projects that have a positive impact on the built environment.
